Hurricane Sandy Outage
Our datacenter suffered a total connectivity loss as a result of damage from Hurricane Sandy. The outage began at roughly 6:50pm ET on 10/29 and lasted until 5:30pm ET on 10/30. The datacenter is serviced by multiple fiber providers, though all were out of service during this time.
Once connectivity was restored at 5:30pm ET, all services were operational again.
Unfortunately during the outage, email was offline as much for GeekISP as it was for our customers. To that end, in the future we’ll be tweeting updates should regular communication channels go offline. Follow @GeekISP for those times and feel free to send us questions via twitter as well. We’re sorry about the lack of communication during the storm – we’ll do better going forward.
